When the Year Thousand that comes after Year Thousand begins

Hunger will squeeze the stomachs of so many men

And cold will turn blue so many hands

That these people will want to see another world

And dream-merchants will come who will offer them the poison.

But it will destroy bodies and rot souls

And those who will have mixed the poison with their blood

Will be like wild beasts caught in a trap

And will kill and rape and extort and steal

And life will become an everyday apocalypse.

Only one third of the world’s population has access to enough food to be correctly nourished.  The others suffer from hunger because of their extreme poverty.  They are ready to do anything to change their situation.

Today, entire nations live from the production and sale of drugs.  They grow it, transform it, and export it.  It is sent throughout the world, and the large profits earned by it are injected into the world’s economy.

At the same time, the poorest countries are left to their epidemics such as malaria and AIDS.

Unhappy people all over the world are approached by “dream-merchants” peddling drugs.  They can be members of some sort of sect, or simply drug dealers.

However, the drug “will destroy bodies and rot souls” and those who use it

Will be like wild beasts caught in a trap

And will kill and rape and extort and steal

And life will become an everyday apocalypse.
